Homer City Community Garden
& Learning Center

Mission:

At Homer City Community Garden & Learning Center, our mission is to create a welcoming & inclusive space for all community members to come together & cultivate a love for gardening & sustainable living. Our goal is to provide a space where people of all ages & backgrounds can connect with nature, learn new gardening skills, & contribute to the health & well-being of our community. Through our garden, we strive to promote the joy of growing & harvesting one's own food.

We believe that gardening is not just about tending to plants but also about building relationships & creating a sense of belonging.

Together, we hope to create a thriving community garden that provides inspiration, education, & joy for all who join.

Meet The Garden Stewards

We are incredibly blessed to have such amazing individuals who generously give their time to help us make a difference in our community. Their commitment and heart are what keep our mission thriving.

Let’s take a moment to recognize and celebrate each of them:

Heather
As our Garden Steward Coordinator, Heather plays a vital role in supporting our Chairs by coordinating volunteers and tending to the needs of the garden. Her dedication extends far beyond our space—she's actively involved in the HC Band, Scouts, and most recently, HC Parks & Rec. Heather, thank you for all the behind-the-scenes work you do. You are truly appreciated!

Paula
Paula, well-known for her contributions to the HC Band and the Hoodlebug, joined us this year and has quickly become an integral part of the team. From harvesting produce to helping maintain the garden, her efforts have made a real impact. Paula, thank you for sharing your time and talents—we’re so happy to have you with us!

E’milie & Jocelyn Aires
What a powerhouse mother-daughter duo! Jocelyn, a proud member of the HC Band, volunteers in our garden as part of her National Honor Society service—and brings great energy to every visit. E’milie, recently appointed VP of Parks & Rec and also serving on our school board, is a dedicated leader in our community. We’re so grateful for both of their contributions to the garden and their commitment to making HC a better place for everyone.
